The mission of the Vector Control Joint Powers Agency is to actively promote the efficient, economical, and responsive delivery of self-insurance programs and professional risk management services deemed appropriate by the member entities.
The Vector Control Joint Powers Agency (VCJPA) is a joint powers authority (JPA) consisting of thirty-five mosquito and vector control districts throughout California.
The thirty-five member districts are divided into four regions based on their physical location within California. The four regions are: Coastal; Sacramento Valley; Southern California; and San Joaquin Valley.
The VCJPA members are represented in the governance of the agency through an elected Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of one representative from each of the four aforementioned regions, and two representatives from the MVCAC’s Trustee Advisory Council.
The programs currently offered through participation in the VCJPA include:
- Mandatory Programs:
- General Liability: up to $29 million in coverage
- Workers’ Compensation: Statutory Coverage
- Auto Physical Damage: up to $30,000 per occurrence
- All-Risk Property: up to $1,000,000,000 per occurrence
- Voluntary Programs:
- Employment Practices Liability: up to $2 million in coverage
- Business Travel Accident: up to $150,000 in coverage
- Employee Assistance program: five (5) sessions per incident, per family member, per month
- Group Fidelity: up to $1 million in coverage per occurrence
